Courage to Create

Hmmm. I've had a 'get real' afternoon. Ever had the feeling you're not getting 'somewhere'?

Then, of course, you realise because you forgot to define the parameters.

me: "So, tell me what's the G-O-A-L?"

self: "Oh. Ah-huh. Hmm. Not sure"

me: "Well, if you had one, what would it be?"

self: "To have 30 training contracts signed for Central London by 30 September 2005".

me: "And what will it take to make that happen?"

self: "Structuring my time, so I am spending 16 hours a week just writing proposals /quotes / closing sales, and working more powerfully with my brilliantly talented sales and training team. In fact, I'll zone my diary right now: Mondays 9 - 3pm, Tuesdays 9 - 1pm, Saturdays 10 - 4pm. I've been getting a bit stuck, as I have unconsciously allowed distractions to creep into my diary, that are really people's priorities."

me: "Right. So you know what to do. You know when you are going to commit the time to it. You know how to do it. You know who's going to help. What's missing?"

self: "A deep, soulful connection to the outcome. I want to feel like it's happening right now!"

me: "So, what part IS happening right now?"

self: "Actually, we have about 15 hot prospects, and a heap more coming through daily from our indominatable Sales Manager, Emma Minshall. Now, I simply need to follow through to completion"

me: "Are you 100% committed to making it happen?"

self: "YES!"

me: "Then GET ON WITH IT! Less talking, more ACTION, gal!"

And so it will be. Yep. Sometimes it's as easy as having a powerful, accountable conversation ... with my 'self'. Ah ... that's a whole heap better.
